Single-stage pump includes pump body, impeller, shaft, sealing device and other components. Understanding the structure and working principle of the single-stage pump can be better applied to various occasions and improve the efficiency and safety of the pump.

The working principle of single-stage pump

The impeller is used to convert the driving force into kinetic energy, so that the liquid can be compressed and sent from the inlet of the pump to the outlet. Compared with multi-stage pumps, single-stage pumps have simple structure and low manufacturing cost, and are suitable for most medium and low pressure applications. Single-stage pumps are widely used in agricultural irrigation, urban water supply, thermal cycle systems, refrigeration and air conditioning and other fields.

1. impeller

The impeller is the key fluid power element in the single-stage pump. Its main function is to accelerate the fluid introduced into the pump body and convert it into pressure energy to be transmitted to the outlet. The number of impeller blades will affect the performance of the pump and the size of the flow. Therefore, the impeller design needs to consider the number of blades, angle, thickness and curvature.

The pump body of a single-stage pump is usually composed of two parts. The front part includes the inlet wide section, the flow channel and the jet guide blade. The rear of the pump body includes the outlet and the rear sealing surface of the device. The pump body needs to have sufficient strength and rigidity, will not deform when subjected to pressure and friction, and maintain accuracy.

The sealing device is used to prevent fluid from leaking between the pump body and the shaft, and includes a pump shaft seal and a pump body seal. Common sealing devices include packing seals, mechanical seals and liquid seals. Its function is to reduce the leakage of the pump and improve the efficiency of the pump.

4. axis

The shaft is the main component that supports the impeller and rotates, and is usually made of high-strength steel. In order to ensure safe operation, the shaft also needs high fatigue resistance, good corrosion resistance and high geometric accuracy.

5. bearing

Support the operation of the shaft to prevent shaft deflection and fracture.

6. inlet and outlet pipes

There shall be no leakage at the inlet and outlet, generally consisting of steel pipes or cast iron and copper joints.

Single-stage centrifugal pump is widely used in industry, agriculture, construction, municipal and other fields, used to transport water, medium temperature does not exceed 80 ℃ chemical medium and does not contain solid particles of liquid. Compared to other types of pumps, single-stage centrifugal pumps have the following advantages:

1. Simple structure: good for repair and maintenance.

2. Wide flow range: from a few liters per second to several thousand liters per second.

3. High pressure: the highest pressure can reach more than ten MPa.

4. smooth operation: the impeller is usually static balance or dynamic balance, stable operation.
