Recently, the 2025 "Create China" 8th Yuhua District Industrial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition came to a successful conclusion. Hunan Sanchang Pump Industry's "MDK280-55x8 wear-resistant, high-efficiency, energy-saving, split-case multi-stage centrifugal pump" project, with its breakthrough technological innovation and significant application value, stood out from numerous participating companies and won second prize, becoming a shining benchmark for technological upgrades in the pump equipment field.

The "MDK280-55x8 wear-resistant, high-efficiency, energy-saving, split-case multi-stage centrifugal pump" project participating in this competition is an innovative improvement targeting the industry pain points of traditional multi-stage centrifugal pumps, such as low efficiency, inconvenient maintenance, and large vibrations. Through multiple technological innovations, the project team has achieved a comprehensive improvement in product performance: The project addressed the low efficiency of the original pump (original pump efficiency 70%), improving it to 78.1%, an 8.1% increase in efficiency, achieving Tier 1 energy efficiency and significantly reducing energy consumption. The original pump was inconvenient to maintain; the improved pump is easy to maintain, greatly shortening the maintenance time. By optimizing the bearing system, the vibration value has been reduced from 4.5 mm/s to 1.2 mm/s, providing customers with the optimal solution for energy saving, maintenance, and repair. The use of a flow-path type split-case multi-stage pump reduces internal pump losses, improves efficiency, raising pump efficiency from Tier 3 to Tier 1 energy efficiency; the pump vibration value has been improved from Class C to Class A. Structural optimization reduces wear and tear, providing a highly efficient and durable new solution for similar operating conditions; when maintaining the pump, there is no need to disassemble the inlet and outlet pipelines, which can significantly shorten the maintenance cycle.

The successful development of this project has not only brought significant economic benefits but has also had a positive social impact. In terms of economic benefits, the 8.1% increase in pump efficiency has significantly reduced energy consumption, with a salt production enterprise showing effectiveness after 8000 hours of trial operation. The lifespan has increased by 200%, reducing equipment replacement, and the number of shutdowns for maintenance has been reduced by more than 80%, with an estimated cost saving of over 60% over the entire life cycle. In terms of social benefits, efficient operation reduces energy consumption, meets energy-saving requirements, and improved equipment durability reduces carbon emissions, contributing to green production. It provides an example for equipment upgrades in industries such as chemicals, water conservancy, seawater desalination, and mine drainage, promoting technological progress and sustainable development in the industry.
